A Little Detour from the Plan…

1 Sep

I’ve deluded myself into thinking that maybe—just maybe—I might be able to finish this rewrite before the end of the week.

Which would be amazing, because we’re leaving for a week-long vacation on Saturday.  Nothing says Hey, Kayla, how about I TOTALLY distract you with my peaceful bliss and awesomeness—thereby rendering you unable to focus for who knows how long when you return! quite like going on a cruise to the Bahamas, a day at EPCOT, and a day at Harry Potter World.

(In theory.)

My track record for post-vacation productivity?  Um, it’s not the best.  I figure it gets worse exponentially, too, as the awesome level of the trip increases.

Like I said: finishing this week?  Kind of an extreme goal.  It’s possible, but not entirely probable.

I’m telling you this because I had planned to do Part II of my comparison series (see here and here) this morning/afternoon.  Today has been wicked productive, so I’m going to keep on rolling with it.  I’ve even been skipping the gym this week, which is totally illogical given that half of my trip will be spent in a swimsuit. Anyway, though, I’m postponing Part II until either tonight or tomorrow, and I’ll follow it up with Part III on Friday.

Happy Wednesday to you all, and I’m sorry about the whole postponing thing.  See you back here tonight or tomorrow.

Good luck, Kayla! I am horribly unproductive whenever I break out of my routine, even for a few days. Post-vacation is atrocious. But look at it this way, even if you push to the wall, you’ve got a restful recuperation ahead of you. Sounds fun, too. (Never heard of Harry Potter World, but it sounds dangerous. ;)

Enjoy your vacation. Forget everything else and you will be ready to engage yourself in all your other pursuits when you return. What a GREAT vacation you have planned!

Good luck with getting it done :-) And have an amazing holiday – it sounds so lovely! I’m very jealous :-)

Hey, if you do get it done, you won’t have to worry that you’ll have little niggling thoughts about it the whole time you’re away! another benefit :-)
