The Brevity of Roses, by Linda Cassidy Lewis

1 Apr

Guys! I have something VERY exciting to tell you about!

The Brevity of Roses, Linda Cassidy Lewis’s debut novel, is available for purchase today!

I had the privilege of reading this fabulous book last spring. Though I read it a year ago, I can still remember entire scenes vividly in my mind. The characters are compelling and well-developed, full of emotional depth and layers. I also loved getting lost in the setting every time I sat down to read—much of the book takes place at a cottage on the California beach.

The thing I most love about Linda’s writing, however, is the way it feels so…purposeful. She’s woven a beautiful story, rich with meaning. It’s not one of those slam-you-over-the-head quick reads—it’s a story to linger in, so you don’t miss out on the more subtle aspects of the writing. I loved this book and am so excited to see it available to the public.

To read more about The Brevity of Roses, check out this page of Linda’s website—on it, you can meet her three main characters (Jalal is my favorite!) and sample her first chapter. If you’d like to order a copy of your own, it’s available here on Amazon.

Yay! I remember when you talked about this one. Is it also on B&N? (I have desktop Nook.)

Good question! Last I saw, the B&N version could be on sale as early as today—but I’m not sure about the progress on that. Check Linda’s blog for updates, I believe she has all that info in a column on the right side! :)

Thank you, Kayla, for your generous praise! :D I wouldn’t mind if you said something like that on Amazon and Goodreads. ;-)

I can’t tell you how warm it makes me feel to know you can still remember scenes from my book. Awesome.

B&N is being a slowpoke. If not today, it should be there tomorrow. And the print version will follow — please, God — within a week.

Silly me, I should have checked first. You already rated it at Amazon and Goodreads. You are a first-class lady, Kayla. :D

Ha! We both checked my blog at the same time!

You’re so welcome, Linda. And, of course, I already *did* say something similar on both Amazon and Goodreads! (Very similar, actually, since it didn’t make much sense to me to write three separate reviews, haha.)

I’m excited for you, and was not at all exaggerating when I said I still remember your scenes. They’re there in my head, vivid both visually and emotionally. :) I’ll update my post with a link when the B&N and print versions go up. As you know, I’m holding out for that one because I want your gorgeous cover, among other reasons.

      YAY! :)
