Writing! Whee!

12 Jan

Oh, man. This whole writing-a-novel-while-being-a-full-time-mom thing? Not easy.

But you knew that already.

New Year’s Resolutions work well for me, though, so despite the fact that I have next to no time to myself these days—and the fact that my trusty MacBook’s battery decided up and keel over—I’ve managed to make consistent progress on my draft. I expect, now that my new BFF (read: supershiny MacBook Air) has arrived, I’ll be able to add even more words. Add to those things the encouraging feedback a friend gave me recently, and I’m super-motivated to finish the draft.

So. This is just a quick little post to check in and say YAY I’M WRITING AGAIN AND YAY IT’S GOING WELL AND AHHHHHHHH. Ahem.

How are your New Year’s resolutions holding up so far?

Yay for writing and new MacBooks! You can do it! I made my word count goal last week, and this week I’m…behind. But I’ll catch up! I will!

I’m so happy for you!! Keep on writing, and I can’t wait to swap manuscripts and beta read the crap out of them! ^_^

goals are going well, and I’m riding high on external motivation to finish this version of WIP2 this month

I finally made some—today. In order to make a living at writing, I have to sell 1600 words a day, five days a week, at five cents a word. So:

    1. I shall write and submit enough original fiction under various pen names to potentially sell 8000+ words/week at $0.05/word.

    2. I shall compile, write, and self-publish nonfiction titles.

Nonfiction are generally better sellers, but I’ve never previously been all that interested (for all I can talk up a storm! :grins: ).

Here’s to your continued progress and the completion of your goals!
